At Blessed Sacrament School, we believe that each child has been given unique, God-given gifts and talents. Our Romans 12 program provides dedicated time each week for students to explore their own interests, talents, and passions. We provide weekly, intentional time for students to research, create, invent, or explore any subject they wish. Students choose what they want to learn, make, or do!
In addition, our "Crusader Clubs" are in-school groups that connect students from different grades with a staff member around a common interest, such as art, gardening, comic books, and more.
See the video below for more information on our interest-based learning program!
The seventh grade class is passionate about art and decided to explore their abilities in a unique way, face painting. They were also able to lead a face painting station during the annual Christmas Fest, which the seventh grade hosts.
For his project, Wesley designed and built his own lego structure (a prison) from scratch. But he's not stopping at just the building process. He's photographing the construction process and will be creating his own instructional guide - just like you'd find in a store-bought Lego set - so others can recreate his design.
The second grade class decided a talent they all can share is giving to others in service. The connected with the Look Up Center in Newark and began creating Blessing Bags. They collected items such as toothbrushes, tooth past, snacks and water. They also made cards telling the recipients how much they are loved by God. Finally, they walked to the Look Up Center and hand delivered the bags.
